Minneapolis, Minnesota — In the past week alone, What’s Up? by EpixHDTV, a channel affiliated with EpixHDTV, has seen tremendous growth, in subscribers, views, likes, engagement, and much more due to the virality of our Marian Days 2024 content. As a result of this, YouTube terminated the What’s Up? by EpixHDTV channel for “spam, deceptive practices, and scam policy”. After the whole entire day had passed, we received confirmation that our channel had been mistakenly taken down and that the channel had since then been reinstalled.
This hurt What’s Up? by EpixHDTV as a very major percentage viewership and engagement was lost due to just that one day of our content not being available to our viewers. We’re deeply disappointed in YouTube as this mistake on YouTube’s end cost us valuable time to post more Marian Days 2024 content.
With that all in mind, we’re happy that our channel was reinstalled. Mistakes happen, and as a result of this mistake on YouTube’s end, it cost us valuable time — time is money.
But, the next day, as we were ready to post some kiddy-content, we realized that YouTube had terminated the kids. presented by EpixHDTV YouTube channel, for the same reason as before — “spam, deceptive practices, and scam policy”. Prior to the termination, kids. presented by EpixHDTV had very few content posted (but more ready to be posted), and low engagement due to lack of content that was posted.
At this moment on, we speculated that there was malicious intent behind the termination of our channels.
We filed another report and request for YouTube to reinstall kids. presented by EpixHDTV as it was a mistake — how can a channel violate “spam, deceptive practices, and scam policy” if it doesn’t have any videos, and doesn’t have much engagement?
Within a few hours though, YouTube finally answered our request, and reinstalled our channel.
We are deeply disappointed in YouTube for their actions within this past week, with their mistakes costing us a lot, and we call on YouTube to make sure this does not happen to an EpixHDTV channel ever again.
